Fred H. Shepherd III was born and raised in Houston, Texas.  He spent the first four years of his legal career on active duty with the United States Marine Corps. As a Marine Officer, then Captain Shepherd was assigned duties as a Marine Judge Advocate. In this capacity, Fred represented over 500 individual service members with matters ranging from estate planning, to family law, to General-Courts Martial criminal defense. He was lead counsel for well over 200 Courts-Martial. Fred was honorably discharged from the Marine Corps in July 2005.

As a civilian attorney, Fred has primarily focused on pharmaceutical litigation and personal injury cases involving prescription drugs. However, he also represents a select handful of local area small businesses and has successfully resolved a wide variety of other cases to include Federal Tort Claims, personal injury cases, automobile accidents, insurance disputes, and cases involving deceptive trade practices.

Fred graduated from Baylor University with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology in 1995. Shortly thereafter, he attended the University of Texas School of Public Health and graduated in 1997 with a Master's in Public Health. Upon completion of his master's program, Fred worked at the University Of Texas School Of Medicine as a member of a medical team conducting clinical research on a new prescription medication pending FDA approval. Thereafter, Fred attended, and ultimately completed, law school at the University of Houston Law Center, graduating in 2001 with a Doctorate of Jurisprudence.

Fred is licensed to practice law in the State of Texas, and admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for Northern, Eastern and Southern Districts of Texas.

Fred is married with two young daughters, aged 2 and 4.
